Research

Scholarship done in the open, where it can be read, cited and checked.

Reasoning you can read, not rulings you take on trust

A ruling without its reasoning asks for trust. IFA publishes the working — standards, policies, papers and articles, written by the Panel of Scholars, dated and kept in the open — so a position can be read, weighed and cited rather than just accepted. When IFA gives guidance, this is where it stands on record.

Why we do this

Thought leadership, held to a standard

Islamic finance needs voices that understand both sides of it: the tradition as it was taught, and the industry as it actually works. IFA’s research is written from that double mandate — and it is never one person and their opinions. Positions are reached collectively, checked by senior scholars, and only then published. That is what lets a page from this library be cited with confidence — in a classroom, a boardroom, or a fatwa discussion.

Experts and industry leaders

Written by senior scholars alongside finance professionals — people who hold the tradition and work at the front of the industry.

Academic and applied

A mandate that spans the seminary and the market: rigorous enough to teach from, practical enough to act on.

Collective, and vetted

No position is one person's opinion. Everything is weighed by Shurā and checked by the Panel's seniors before it carries IFA's name.
